Selfish mothers suck. My inner child is so sad and hurt. Parenting myself in a loving and kind way is a foreign thought. How do you successfully approach an almost fatally emotionally and socially wounded child without crumbling yourself out of sheer sadness and emotional agony over the sight?

1) Honor the anger. It's kept you safe when you couldn't know any other way.
2) Reach for the middle space. It's your strongest position.
